We’re the New Terminal One (NTO) at John F. Kennedy International Airport, a bold and exciting project to develop a world class, international terminal that can serve as a global

gateway to the New York metropolitan area and the greater United States. The $9+ billion first phase is the largest single asset project financing in US history.

It will be built on sites now occupied by Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and the former Terminal 3, where it will anchor JFK’s south side. Construction will take place in phases, with the first

phase, including the new arrivals and departures hall and first set of new gates, expected to open in 2026.


NTO will set a new standard for design and service and aspires to obtain a global Top 5 Skytrax rating as one of the finest ten airport terminals in the world.

Who you are:


You are a dedicated and proactive staff accountant with a strong financial analysis background. You will play a vital part in providing valuable insights and recommendations for financial planning and management. Your responsibilities will include analyzing and interpreting financial data, such as construction costs, projected revenues, and potential risks and benefits associated with projects. As a staff accountant, you will be responsible for performing financial modeling and forecasting to assess the financial viability of projects. Through your expertise, you will identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to stakeholders on how to optimize financial outcomes while minimizing risks.

We are looking for a candidate who is bold, committed, and possesses a proactive mindset. Your ability to analyze financial data, provide accurate insights, and offer strategic recommendations will be crucial in supporting our organization's financial decision-making processes.


What are we looking for :


  • 8 + years of related experience.
  • A strong foundation in accounting principles, financial statements, and bookkeeping . You should be familiar with concepts such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and have the ability to accurately analyze and interpret financial data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Someone who can deal with large volumes of numerical data and has a keen eye for detail. You should be able to identify discrepancies, errors, and anomalies in financial records to ensure accuracy.
  • High proficiency in accounting software and tools. You should be comfortable working with spreadsheets, databases, and financial management software to efficiently handle tasks such as data entry, reconciliation, and financial analysis
  • Familiarity with financial programs and software.
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance, or related field, required.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights from the numbers. You should be comfortable using tools like spreadsheets and financial software to perform data analysis and generate reports.
  • Excellent organizational/time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley.

What will you do :

  • Record monthly expense accruals (in JDE) based budgets
  • Record all amortization journal entries
  • Record related expense for any prepaid amounts
  • Process Manual Recurring Journal Entries for revenue and other
  • Book Accrual entry for invoices received and not approved in the current month
  • Compare Budget to any invoices received for the month to ensure they are in-line with expectations
  • Process Manual Journal Entries Submitted for Approval
  • Assist with Bank Rec coding
  • Review of Monthly Payments file
  • Assisting in Financial Statement Preparation
  • Assisting Treasury with breakout of payments coding
  • Prepare and Update Accrual File based on meetings with Business Process owners
  • Prepare/Upload, and Post all relevant accruals, payments, accounting JEs for the close
  • Ad-Hoc requests from Finance and other Departments
  • Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
  • Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
  • Maintains the general ledger.
  • Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
  • Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  • Coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software
  • Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Where will you work: This role will start in Lower Manhattan and transition to JFK
