The Staff Accountant will assist the Chief Administrative Officer and will be responsible for finance department projects, internal auditing, Grant maintenance and reporting and, maintaining the books and records for related companies. The Staff Accountant position can sit out of the Liverpool or Utica hub.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develops and maintains general ledger account supporting worksheets and documentation.
- Maintains schedules of the various lease agreements and assists with renewals and compliance.
- Provides back-up to the accounts payable function.
- Assists in maintains the books and records for related companies.
- Responsibility for finance department special projects.
- Responsible for Grant maintenance and reporting.
- Provides reports as requested.
- Performs financial internal auditing as requested.
- Performs other business office functions as requested.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
- 2-3 plus years of general accounting experience required.
- Knowledge of accounting procedures required.
- Strong technical skills required.
- Microsoft Excel experience required.
- Microsoft Office 365 experience preferred.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Compliance focused.
- Analytical thinker
