About the Position:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the daily financial operations of assigned HUD-subsidized rental property and for performing other general accounting duties as needed. This is a great opportunity for a qualified candidate in need of the long-term flexibility of working 8 hours per day from home.

Work hours will be fixed schedule during regular Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM business hours. The candidate must also be available to call into a weekly Monday morning department meeting.

This position will focus on:

• 
  Completing AR/AP functions daily
• Monthly bank and mortgage reconciliation
• General Ledger posting and tie-outs
• Posting of monthly recurring items
• Preparing financial reports
• Review monthly Rent Collections
• Assisting in audits and tax returns
• Vendor management
• Various clerical duties
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 
  Prior accounting experience required
• Prior property management experience helpful
• Experience with Yardi property management software preferred
• Credit & Criminal checks will be completed. Responsible credit history required.
