Our second office, located in Metuchen, NJ, services the New York/ New Jersey area. We are seeking a Staff Engineer to join our talented team of professionals. Job Responsibilities

Analyze, design and prepare documentation for temporary shoring, bracing, formwork, hoist, scaffold, and overhead protection systems. Perform condition assessments of existing structures and if applicable analyze and design necessary repairs and renovations. Analyze existing structures due to loading from construction equipment.

Other responsibilities of the Staff Engineer role include, but are not limited to:

• Uses computer-aided design (CAD) software to prepare deliverables, including submittals, details and sketches.
• Prepares formal and informal calculations using structural engineering fundamentals, construction best-practices and general knowledge of scaffolding and shoring.
• Follows design codes and standards published by - IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, NDS, and other.
• Meets with clients, both on site and in the office, to discuss project requirements and/or design approaches.

Job Requirements

Well-organized and skilled at project management. Have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced setting. Qualified candidates shall possess a strong understanding of structural engineering principles as well as background in construction and the roles of subcontractors in the construction process.

Other requirements of the Staff Engineer role include:

• BS or MS in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structures, preferred
• At least 3 - 5 years of structural engineering experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, and structural engineering analysis programs such as RISA 3D, Enercalc, and StructurePoint software
• Scaffold, Hoisting, and Shoring knowledge, preferred
• Structural design and analysis experience with steel, concrete, wood, aluminum and masonry
• Experience in the field or onsite, a plus
