Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, chemical sterilizers, and dry heat ovens.
- Prepare and package instruments, equipment, and supplies for sterilization according to standard protocols.
- Monitor sterilization processes to ensure that all equipment is properly cleaned and sterilized.
- Inspect, test, and assemble sterile instruments and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, including load parameters and sterilization cycle times.
- Monitor and maintain the inventory of sterile supplies and equipment.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the sterile processing area.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a Sterile Processing Technician program or equivalent experience in a healthcare environment.
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician.
- Knowledge of infection control principles and practices.
- Knowledge of sterilization equipment, methods, and techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict procedures.
