Structural Co-Op (January 2023 and Fall 2023) Job at HGA Architects & Engineers

We are an award-winning architectural and engineering firm and a leader in the design of healthcare facilities, corporate headquarters, labs, museums, higher education buildings, and central heating and cooling plants. We have an excellent opportunity for two talented, ambitious structural engineering co-op/interns with good people skills to join our Milwaukee office. This is a paid co-op/internship that is expected to last at least a semester in length. Ideally one intern would start the Spring of 2023 with the addition of another intern that would start in September 2023, however we can be flexible with timing.

What is needed for this role::
In this position you will collaborate with and be an integral part of project teams that strive to provide innovative solutions for the unique challenges of each project. Typical assignments include developing construction drawings and details using Revit and/or AutoCAD, performing structural analysis, reviewing shop drawings, performing construction administration activities, and assisting with miscellaneous project tasks.
You will need to have::
Qualified candidates must be working toward a BS degree in civil/structural engineering with an emphasis on structural design and have completed two years of school. Desirable skills include experience with the design and analysis of steel, concrete, masonry and wood structures, and experience with structural analysis software, good communication skills, and the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment. Previous experience (co-ops or internships) in the design or construction industry and working knowledge of both Revit and AutoCAD are also desirable skills that could be used immediately.
