Los Angeles Superior Court seeks dynamic, well-qualified, and highly-motivated individuals to fill the positions of Student Worker and Student Professional Worker throughout court locations in Los Angeles County.
ABOUT THE COURT
We are the largest unified trial court in the United States with nearly 600 courtrooms presided over by 550 bench officers and 4,500 full-time employees. The Court has 38 Court locations, serving 88 cities and 118 law enforcement agencies countywide.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Student Workers and Student Professional Workers provide assistance to the Court in carrying out basic clerical and court operations tasks while providing practical work experience and skill development opportunities to students. Employment in this classification is considered to be part-time and temporary and is limited to a "not to exceed period" of 180 days of employment in accordance with the provisions of the Court's Student Worker and Student Professional Worker Employment Guidelines. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
To qualify, you must meet the following requirements at the time of filing:
Student Worker:
Students must be 16 years of age or older at the time of filing
Current high school senior or enrollment in an accredited university, community college, or trade/vocational school
Minimum 2.0 GPA
Student Professional Worker:
Students must be 16 years of age or older at the time of filing
Currently enrollment in an accredited university, community college, or trade/vocational school
Minimum 2.0 GPA
Successful completion of sophomore year of college*
- Completion of sophomore year of college is 60 units completed for semester system - OR - 90 units completed for quarter system.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
All applicants must be able to show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 prior to beginning employment with the Court.
You are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 2 weeks after you:
Received a Johnson & Johnson (J&J)/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine, or
Received a second dose of a Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, or
Finished the series of a COVID-19 vaccine that has been listed for emergency use by the World Health Organization [WHO]
Individuals with a medical condition that prevents them from getting a vaccine, as verified by their medical provider, or those with a confirmed sincerely held religious belief that prohibits them from receiving a vaccine, may request to be excused from this vaccination requirement as a reasonable accommodation to their medical condition or religion. The Court will review requests for accommodation on a case-by-case basis consistent with its existing procedures for reasonable accommodation requests.

Student Professional Worker: A legible copy of school transcripts (unofficial acceptable) showing current enrollment, completion of sophomore* year of college - AND- an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher.

WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT:
Applications will be reviewed for in the order they are received. If your application materials clearly demonstrate that you meet the minimum qualifications, you will be placed on an eligibility list that will remain active for approximately 6 months. This list will be utilized by hiring managers to fill Student Worker and Student Professional Worker positions throughout the Court.
