Missaukee County Parks is looking for seasonal summer employees with a "can-do" attitude for the 2023 camping season.

**Prospective candidates will be required to operate a computer and perform office work in addition to grounds and janitorial**

Title: Seasonal Park Associate

Department: Missaukee County Parks

Purpose:

The Seasonal Associate will be responsible for grounds and facilities maintenance, along with janitorial and office work as directed. This employee will be expected to work in all weather conditions and will be asked to perform a wide variety of duties from mowing to cleaning restrooms to performing sales. The Seasonal Associate provides no supervision of others and reports to the Park Director & Assistant Manager.

Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:

Any employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all the following essential functions. These examples do not include all the duties which the employee may be expected to perform. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

Liaison:

Greets and assists visitors, answers questions, explains park rules, distributes information as needed.

Provides campers with directions to their campsites.

Provides information regarding the area and local points of interest. Acts as a tour guide.

Assists in campground public relations, educational activities, and special events.

Reports any park disturbances to Park Director & Assistant Manager.

Facilities/Groundskeeping:

Collects trash and refuse from County Park property.

Performs janitorial tasks as needed.

Sweeps, mops, and vacuums floors, and washes windows of park facilities.

Helps clean and prepare rental units and cabins as needed.

Cleans automobiles, trailers, and other motor vehicles as needed.

Stocks shelves, moves supplies, fills orders, and maintains stock.

Cut grass, remove weeds, rake ground, picks up sticks and branches, shovels and sweeps dirt, plants and cares for trees, shrubs, grass, flower beds, and performs related groundskeeping activities.

May assist in repairs of parks, boat access, trails, and roadsides.

May shovel snow and sweeps sidewalks, docks, lanes, and driveways as needed.

May collect and sort laundry, distributes clean linen supplies and changes linen.

Assists Park Director, Assistant Manager, and Sheriff’s Deputy as requested and needed.

May perform related work as assigned.

Office:

Operate Computer

Check for vehicle entrance permits.

Sells motor vehicle permits.

Registers campers.

Performs routine office duties.

Delivers messages.

Sort and deliver mail.

Performs related work as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

This job requires the ability to perform the essential functions contained in this description. These include, but are not limited to, the following requirements:

Ability to walk, stand, reach, bend, climb and otherwise fully ambulate in order to operate maintenance equipment and otherwise conduct park maintenance operations.

Ability to sit in a chair for extended periods; ability to sit on a mower for extended periods.

Ability to work outside and in occasional, inclement weather.

The job duties require an employee to lift and/or move heavy objects. Ability to lift 25 pounds regularly and occasionally, up to 50 pounds.

Ability to write, hear, see, read, and speak English. Fluency in other languages is encouraged to apply.

The job duties require an employee to bend, reach, stoop, stand and/or walk for extended periods.

The job duties may require an employee to traverse rough terrain.

Working Conditions:

Works primarily outside in various weather conditions.

Works on weekends and holidays, shift is scheduled per needs of Park Director.

Expected to travel throughout campground daily, on foot, or when park equipment is available.

May be required to occasionally attend meetings outside the normal work schedule with advance notice provided.

Must have reliable transportation.

Compensation/Benefits:

$15/Hour. This is a casual/seasonal position and is not eligible for benefits or overtime. Accepting both Part and Full time availability applications.

Education/Experience:

You must be able to operate a computer, otherwise no specific type or amount is required. Any unique knowledge, skills and abilities are encouraged, however, to be mentioned in application.
