Our mission is to provide excellent, compassionate care to our patients, their families, and visitors. The Surgery Scheduler schedules surgeries for patients in an efficient and timely manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Schedules, coordinates, and reschedules surgeries
  • Communicates necessary information to patients, staff, and physicians
  • Verifies necessary information and records information in patient's medical record
  • Obtains benefit information, prior authorization and collects surgical pre-payments
  • Coordinates necessary equipment, surgical assists, and anesthesia relative to surgeries
  • Maintains and updates physician's calendars
  • Answers telephone, screens calls, clears voicemail, returns patient calls in a timely manner
  • Answers questions regarding patient's upcoming surgeries
  • Updates patient information
  • Prepares surgical packet materials
  • Assists in training and orienting of new staff
  • All other duties assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understand/Perform training on practice management software
  • Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1-year experience of medical scheduling
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of experience surgery scheduling
