Purpose

Ensure construction quality standards are met through inspection, testing, and other quality control measures.

Key Responsibilities

At the Operational and Company Level

• Work closely with more senior staff members to learn broad scope of project plans.
• Serve as resource and mentor for junior staff on team.

Do the Work

• Develop and implement the site quality plan and inspection and test plans.
• Complete daily CQA Report log listing all construction activities performed throughout the day by the contractor, including photographs of relevant construction activities.
• Assign and authorize competent site staff to inspect and monitor the quality of work in accordance with the site quality plan, contractor’s method statements, and inspection and test plans.
• Ensure that project procedures are updated and duly implemented.
• Review, coordinate, and accept all contractors’ deliverables prior to work commencing.
• Ensure that the contractor’s quality control records reflect the items in the inspection and test plan with strict adherence to identified hold points.
• Ensure that contractors’ staff are in receipt of the latest revision approved for construction drawings, procedures, specifications, purchase orders, requisitions, etc.
• Monitor and ensure that a comprehensive record of documentation and certification of work is maintained and to support a satisfactory handover of the completed works to the Client.
• Develop an audit schedule and perform audits on all construction contractors.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline preferred.
• Minimum of three to five (3-5) years’ survey experience and/or quality assurance/quality control management experience in a land development, land surveying, or construction environment.
• Ability to learn basic design concepts and technical calculations.
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Surveyor-In-Training certificate preferred.
• Relevant survey license a plus.
• Must be proficient with Carlson and/or Civil 3D.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
