Job Title :: System DevOps Engineer

Job Location :: Milpitas, CA/ Hybrid (3 days On-site & 2 days Remote)

Position Description ::

• Bachelor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields
• Advanced knowledge of Linux for bare-metal use, and working experience with at least two of the following distributions: Redhat, CentOS, SUSE, Ubuntu
• Advanced knowledge of Python and Bash, especially for creating scripts to interact with Linux OS, filesystem and services
• Expert knowledge of git
• Recent experience with SaltStack/ Ansible (installing packages, manipulating files and services, customizing roles, etc.)
• Recent experience in building and deploying docker containers in an on-premise environment
• Recent experience with creating and deploying on-prem CI/CD pipelines, preferably with Gitlab
• Familiar with Jenkins
• Familiar with basics of computer hardware (CPU, GPU, Memory, Network, etc.)

Good to have

• Experience building and deploying customized Linux images in an on-prem environment
• Experience with Gitlab APIs, especially to interact with Gitlab CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with OpenQA
• Familiarity with typical server/HPC hardware (Server CPUs and motherboards, Server GPUs, Infiniband, etc.)

Day-to-day tasks include:

• Maintaining build servers and associated docker containers, and fixing any issues that might arise related to them
• Maintaining and improving Client's base Linux image and all related scripts (Bash and Python) that is used by multiple teams across Client for creating customized Linux images
• Developing new Salt states and improving existing ones which will be used across various programs at Client for creating customized Linux images
• Automating, maintaining, and improving build and test environments for various common repositories used by different programs at Client
