- Ensures a strong nuclear and industrial safety culture permeates the work environment.
- Oversee packing and shipping functions, ensure shipping containers and services are available for on-time delivery to customers, and manage export compliance requirements.
- Develop Shipment forecasts and shipment schedules.
- Manage the supply storeroom, ensuring that needed supplies are on hand in the correct quantities. Ensure an accurate spend forecast and manage to budgets.
- Ensure Payroll, attendance, and training is up to date for the department.
- Support the production and shipping schedules to ensure uninterrupted plant operating performance and inventory levels.
- Develop and implement Visual Factory tools to support pacing, status, and needed actions.
- Support the development and implementation of key performance metrics to drive area performance improvement.
- Identify and solve problems, support corrective actions (as needed)
- Support physical inventories in partnership with Finance.
- Interface with Supply Chain Management (SCM) and/or suppliers, as needed, to ensure indirect materials are available.
- Supplemental Buyer function to support SCM gaps, as needed.
- Develop line of sight to identify stockout and past-due-order.
- Bachelor of Science Degree, preferred, or related field experience.
- Five or more years directly related experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a union environment.
- Experience supervising or working in a union environment is preferred.
- Candidate must also possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The candidate must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to ensure multiple assignments are completed properly and on time and be able to effectively multi-task and handle changing work assignments, schedules, and priorities.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office is required.
- Proficient use or knowledge of SAP is preferred, but not required.
