Responsibilities

As a member of the Enterprise and Information Systems Engineering Section reporting to the Mechanical, Electrical & PLM Solutions Engineering Group Supervisor, this position will be a key contributor to JPL’s Electrical Computer Aided Engineering (ECAE) engineering team that provides an integrated process and tool platform for electrical design and analysis. Actions and decisions of this role should have a positive impact on multiple organizations across JPL that develop electrical products.

This position is expected to:

  • Create and manage symbols and footprints for Electrical, Electronic, Electromechanical (EEE) parts using Altium Designer and Siemens (Mentor) Xpedition
  • Prepare/verify EEE part attribute information for entry into library database
  • Create and release parts and 3D CAD models in Siemens Teamcenter & NX
  • Interface with Electrical Engineers on part requests and model verification
  • Partner with ITSD to ensure functionality of the library and associated systems
  • Prepare and deliver training for end users
  • Create and maintain documentation for standard library processes
  • Influence library decisions and strategy
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure functionality and usability of the ECAD libraries
  • Partner with Electronic Fabrication Process Engineers to develop footprints for new package technologies.
  • Understand and implement technical requirements from JPL and Industry standards
  • Be a contributing member of the ECAE team

Qualifications

This position requires a High School with 6 years of related experience; Associates with 1 years of related experience; or Related required training.

Other minimum requirements include:

  • Knowledge and understanding of EEE component types, including function and standard schematic symbols
  • Basic 3D CAD modeling experience
  • Understanding of Printed Wiring/Circuit Board technology
  • Experience with Electrical schematic and layout tools such as Altium Designer and Siemens (Mentor) Xpedition
  • Basic IT knowledge of licenses, servers, operating systems, etc
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of effectively capturing and transferring technical and functional information.
  • Ability to conduct product demos and training

Desired Skills:

  • ECAD library management experience
  • Experience with Siemens Teamcenter/NX
  • Knowledge and application of IPC standards and Military Specifications
  • Experience with high reliability/space level printed wiring board manufacturing practices
  • Experience with SVN, Jira, Confluence, SQL

Hiring range for this job may be adjusted based on primary work location outside of Pasadena, California. This adjusted range will be provided to candidates by the Recruiter when applicable.
