SUMMARY

The Machine Tool and Facilities Maintenance Manager directs and coordinates the operations and activities of the following facility maintenance departments: administrative, layout and design, utilities operations, building and grounds protection, equipment and utilities maintenance, building and safety. Responsible for maintaining the equipment and facility including HVAC, structural, electrical, and all other facets of maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assigns maintenance techs to down machines.
• Determines severity of breakdowns and required support to repair (internal or contract).
• Assists in troubleshooting of machine breakdowns as required.
• Manages spare parts.
• Ensures workplace safety.
• Implements continuous improvement and cost savings activities.
• Coordination of PM schedules in support of the facility and equipment.
• Manages building, yard and facility maintenance, repair, change and upgrades.
• Communication and scheduling of contractors.
• Manages plant security.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly and indirectly supervises 20+ employees in the Machine Tool and Facilities Department. This position is held responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all work units. The managerial responsibilities include the following: supervises in accordance to the organization's policies and applicable laws. Additional responsibilities consist of: interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolves problems.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must possess a thorough knowledge of factory maintenance procedures.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems relative to machine tools including hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, motion, lubrication systems and electrical controls.
• Understanding and application of key departmental measures.
• Experience supporting a large scale operation (1M square feet +).
• Experience managing and leading teams.
• Knowledge of all phases of building and facilities maintenance.
• Experience with preventive maintenance requirements and systems for machine tools, and in support of facilities.
• Must be able to plan, organize, direct and control the maintenance department activities.

Desired Qualifications

• 15-20 years facilities and mechanical maintenance experience which includes a minimum of 8 years in a management or supervisory role.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree BA/BS/BFA/BSA from a four-year college or university is required, plus an additional five years related experience, training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
