COUNSELOR
Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for the position of T ransfer and Non-Traditional Admissions Counselor in the Office of Admissions & Merit Awards.
The position of Transfer and Non-Traditional Admissions Counselor directly contributes to the overall success of the transfer team with responsibilities spanning travel, prospect and territory management, communication and recruitment, application review and credit evaluation, as well as virtual, on- and off-campus visits and presentations. This position is responsible for the recruitment of undergraduate transfer and non-traditional students, which may include adult learners, veterans, transients, concurrent high school freshmen, senior citizens, and second-degree seekers.
Duties include, but are not limited to: counsels prospects and applicants in-person, virtually, and electronically regarding coursework for transfer, CORE fulfillment, and CCU degree completion; completes timely and accurate evaluation of external transcripts for applicants, ensuring applicants receive appropriate CCU credit for previously completed and in-progress coursework; generates authentic leads through regular, strategic communication with prospects and two-year college counterparts to drive interest and applications.; maintains regular personal contact with applicants and their families throughout the admissions process; meets with and educates campus visitors regarding admission, academics, student life, and other areas of interest; advises and counsels accepted students on CCU related topics, such as merit award opportunities and the enrollment process; represents the University in a positive and professional manner at on- and off-campus locations and events; formally presents and delivers accurate information regarding the University, admission criteria and the application and enrollment processes; actively recruits prospective, admitted, and enrolled students in all venues; engages with campus visitors to fully demonstrate CCU’s commitment to service excellence and performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements: A bachelor’s degree and a valid driver’s license is required. One (1) year of relevant work experience in an admissions operation, preferably transfer admission or academic advising in a two-year or four-year college or university setting is preferred.

Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. Occasional night and/or weekend work is required. Local (day trip) and occasional overnight travel required.

Required Qualifications
