The Trauma and Global Mental Health Lab in the Department of Psychology, New School for Social Research, has an opening for a research coordinator position. The successful candidate will work on several multi-site grant funded projects related to mental health research involving the training and delivery of mental health interventions by para-professionals and non-mental health specialists.

Specific tasks of the research coordinator may include:

1. Collaborate with Director of Research and various partners on a variety of mental health related research studies and programs.
2. Function independently and serve as a key contributor to all phases of study development and analysis
3. Assist with the preparation of research study protocols, grant applications, and interfacing with the Institutional Review Board
4. Provide ongoing program and study coordination and administration, including scheduling team meetings, taking notes, and drafting progress reports
5. Collect qualitative data (e.g., semi-structured interviews) for research studies and outreach to research participants
6. Participate in the analysis and interpretation of study results and drafting study reports and papers
7. Attend scientific meetings, conferences and training courses to enhance job and professional skill

Salary Range: $60k – $70k
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applicants for the position should have a bachelor’s degree with relevant experience or a master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, public health).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Effective oral, written, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Priority will be given to applicants with demonstrated interest and experience related to mental health and psychosocial support and mental health research relevant to underserved populations.
  • Ability to adhere to University COVID-19 Policy and requirements.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
