SUMMARY

Works closely with management to orchestrate and execute the safe movement of fleet vehicles within the property.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Operate yard truck to move trailers to and from dock.
  • Record seal numbers on all trucks and trailers after they are loaded.
  • Provide supervisor with list of all seal numbers at the end of the day.
  • Report all accidents immediately to supervisor.
  • Complete accident reports for insurance carrier.
  • Monitor company issued radio at all times during shift; return radio to battery charger at the end of each day.
  • Monitor and adjust refrigerated trailer temperature settings per specific load requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Willing to work overtime and weekends occasionally. Knowledgeable on performing pre- and post-trip inspections.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to use and understand two- and three-syllable words. Ability to speak and print simple sentences. Ability to accurately recognize similarities and differences between series of numbers.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, written or oral instructions. Ability to resolve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to read and understand multiple vehicle gauges.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid driver’s license required.
