Under limited supervision, Security Officers are responsible for observing and reporting safety and security hazards affecting the personnel and property of Star Protection Agency, LLC customer sites; and to assist in enforcing the client’s safety and security rules and regulations

Responsibilities

• Assist with access to secured and unsecured areas for authorized personnel, following denied access directives, and manage badge compliance
• Interact with a variety of business contacts including clients, visitors, public safety officials, employees, co-workers, and the general public
• Must have sound judgment, attention to detail, de-escalation, and time management while dealing with high stress situations
• Monitor and respond to Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) and alarm panels for emergencies and potential issues
• Ability to work in the all elements indoor and outdoor, including but not limited to; rain snow, wind, and heat
• Prepare digital and written reports to include daily activity reports, incident reports, and pass down logs
• Ability to hear and respond to normal verbal speech, alarm signals, radio and telephone communication
• Follow and enforce post orders, pass down messages, and client/ company policies and procedures
• Patrol, inspect, secure, and report all building utility/service issues and security/ safety risks at site
• Ability to operate phones, radios, computer systems, and other tools or technology at site
• Maintain health and safety standards as directed by client and/or Star Protection Agency
• Complete training as delivered or directed by client and/or Star Protection Agency
• Follow safety rules, observe and report all unusual activity, and document patrols
• Regulate and direct traffic as documented/ limited by the post orders
• Ability to professionally communicate written and verbally in English
• Ability to walk, stand, and/ or run, up to 90% of shift (8-12 hours)
• Ability to walk or climb stairs or steep inclines surrounding site
• Notify, assist, and direct emergency personnel as necessary
• Escort employees to their vehicles as requested
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• All other duties as assigned by client and/or Star Protection Agency

Requirements

• Proof of high school graduation or GED
• Ability to pass a federal background check and drug screening
• Proficient computer skills

Preferred

• Previous experience in a security role
• Denver Security License
