Job Summary
The MCH Unit Receptionist will perform clerical duties and facilitate the smooth functioning of the patient care unit. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, the MCH Unit Receptionist will also assist the staff nurse with specific patient activities.

Primary Responsibilities
- Completes all necessary forms, requisitions, communications, and special projects as assigned. Accurately transcribes physicians' orders (when applicable).
- Acts as a central communication resource at the nursing station for all patient care activities. Maintains good customer service and patient confidentiality.
- Accurately inputs and retrieves data.
- Initiates, maintains, replaces, or completes various clerical forms, reports, supplies, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively–both verbally and in writing
- Fluency in medical terminology preferred
- Solid knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office applications; Outlook proficiency preferred
- Excellent administrative, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and inclusive environment
- Strong attention to detail and quality mindset
- Outstanding customer orientation and ability to handle confidential and/or sensitive information
- Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and share knowledge within the Day Kimball MCH teams
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in a clerical role or as a receptionist is preferred
