Job Title: VP, Marketing Writer

Reports to (title): Head of Marketing

Job Description:

As a member of the Marketing team, the Vice President Marketing Writer (VPMW) will be responsible for developing a broad range of both external and internal communications materials including, market commentaries, proprietary Chart of the Week series, thought leadership white papers and email campaigns. The VPMW will work with a cross-section of groups throughout the company to develop impactful content both product related and thematic.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Should have a demonstrated ability to understand financial concepts and markets to create content for the various sales channels, e.g.- retail, institutional, alternatives, international etc.
  • Ability to propose and research ideas, source data and interview Portfolio managers and analysts as well as work closely with compliance team is essential
  • Responsible for quarterly product commentaries across all vehicles, e.g. - mutual funds, composite, ETFs, Sicavs etc.
  • Work closely with our Client Strategist to generate Alger’s proprietary Chart of the Week
  • Can generate ideas for the Chart of the Week series as well as provide editorial oversight
  • Draft video scripts for ongoing video series both thematic and product related

Qualifications:

  • 10 + years’ experience in marketing writing within an asset management/financial services firm or equivalent industry training and experience
  • Financial Journalism, equity market research and/or product marketing background is ideal
  • Base salary range of $120,000 to $150,000 commensurate with experience

  • Self-starter and quick learner who is detail oriented and proactive
  • Demonstrated ability to work within tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and deliver high quality work in a timely manner
  • Positive, "can do" attitude and team oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Adobe Illustrator is preferred
