ABOUT THE ROLE
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving and storing parts in the warehouse and accurately packaging and shipping parts to customers in an efficient and timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction. Areas of responsibility include pulling, boxing, and shipping parts, and area maintenance.
Regular working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the possibility of mandatory overtime.
This position reports to the Logistics Manager. Position involves interaction with customer service phone reps to receive orders for shipping, and other customer service staff as needed.
YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON
- Actively pursues continuous improvement and ease of doing the tasks of the position to meet or exceed department needs and to further overall company goals and objectives.
- High level of accuracy when identifying and pulling correct parts, to meet or exceed customer's expectations.
- Responsible for understanding Precor's Safety Policy and for practicing safe work habits on the job. Attends regularly scheduled department safety meetings.
- Opens containers and unpacks and examines incoming shipments
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Rejects damaged items and shortages, and stores rejected items in the designated area
- Records amounts of parts received or distributed.
- Labels incoming orders with part number, quantity and a description of the part
- Routes items to various departments and buildings.
- Schedules the pick-up of materials with other departments and buildings
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins in predetermined locations.
- Receives part orders and verifies correct information per order.
- Uses a computer system to locate and pull correct parts.
- Picks customer orders from stock
- Conveys orders to packing station using powered industrial trucks (forklifts, scissor lifts, reach lifts or vacuum lift) or hand truck or pallet jack
- Labels materials with identifying information including part number and quantity
- Labels smaller containers with the correct part number when parts are pulled from bins.
- Rejects and takes appropriate action for any inconsistency between order placed and parts stocked/pulled.
- Confirms order contains the correct part numbers and quantity of parts to match the transfer documentation.
- Sorts orders as necessary for correct priority.
- Verifies correct parts pulled according to packing slip.
- Assured parts are identified/identifiable as they are placed into boxes.
- Accurately fills out the packing slip.
- Boxes parts as appropriate: assembles box, packs items with cushioning materials for shipping, and seals box, using automatic tape and packing machines, tape gun, and pneumatic staple gun. Lifts box from boxing table and places on gravity belt, or otherwise positions packages for shipping.
- Reads packing slip to determine proper carrier, (i.e. UPS, Federal Express, US Mail, motor freight), based on packing slip and/or size of order.
- Removes the box from the gravity belt and places it on an appropriate scale. Weighs box, enters information into scale, places carrier-shipping label on box, and puts box into appropriate shipping bin.
- Completes paperwork, including verification of parts shipped, and shipment type. Initials completed paperwork.
- Files daily reports in appropriate places.
- Responsible for shipping parts out internationally, using proper paperwork, (C.O.O, Custom Invoices, Chamber of Commerce Signatures, and International Waybills.)
- Accurately uses Barcode equipment to track shipments.
- Enters packing slip shipping information into the computer, adding freight costs as appropriate.
- Verifies information on packing and freight methods.
- Keeps the area neat and in order.
- Keeps the area stocked with supplies. Includes lifting rolls of packing material from floor onto packing machine.
- Other duties as required by position.
YOU BRING TO PELOTON
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum one year shipping experience
- Other manufacturing experience is helpful.
- Takes a "no excuses" approach to making things happen.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety procedures
- Read, write and speak simple English as appropriate in a manufacturing environment

- Safely and effectively operate department tools including but not limited to: paper-packaging dispenser machine, tape dispenser, electronic scale, pneumatic staple gun, various carts (hand truck and pallet jack), computer, keyboard and mouse.

- Must be certified to drive forklift.
- Must be able to keep up with fast-paced, time-sensitive operations, shipping up to 300 packages per day.
- Typing skills helpful, but not mandatory for shipping stations, which produce computer-generated labels.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time with intermittent walking
- Able to lift, from floor to chest level, up to 40 lbs. consistently of frequent duration, or move heavier without lifting and using the aid of engineered lifts, i.e., vacuum lift.
- Able to handle cumbersome awkwardly shaped boxes.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed indoors in a heated modern factory space. Ambient working temperature may range from 50 F – 90 F, depending on season. Work area is clean and free from wet, slippery conditions. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection and gloves. Respirator may be required if applicable. Potential hazards may include working with moving parts (machines guarded per OSHA rules), nip points, basic material handling, use of ladders/small platforms, exposed to potential sharp edges on parts/stock/pallets, flying particles, lifting, repetitive motions (upper extremities), working near forklifts, reach lifts, electric and manual pallet jacks, trucks, docks and aerial platforms. All lift drivers must be certified. Moderate noise exposure (70-85 db, hearing protection provided).
Base Salary: $20/Hr
The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes.
