Distribution Operations Manager

Shift: 1st Shift, Monday through Friday

Salary: $95,000 to $105,000 per year (dependent on experience)

The role is responsible for ensuring operations processes and standard operating procedures are followed, while managing the flow of product through the distribution center. This role is responsible for managing multiple aspects of a medium sized distribution center function including associates, staffing, budgeting and processes. This role will report directly to the facility General Operations Manager.

Major Responsibilities:

• Plans and manages the efficient flow of product through the Distribution Center with a focus on KPI’s, Quality, and Service goals.
• Provides leadership and coaching for 6-7 direct salaried reports and 60-70 indirect hourly reports, while maintaining a safe and inclusive work environment.
• Ensures proper staffing levels according to departmental workloads. Coordinates staffing changes across departments based on projected volume.
• Fosters a “safety first” culture through awareness, training, and accountability.
• Achieves operational goals related to productivity, quality, and safety.
• Identifies improvement opportunities and plans initiatives related to strategic goals.
• Maintains functional plans related to workforce planning, communications planning, and operational planning.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Prior experience managing front-line supervisors/managers.
• 5+ years experience working in distribution management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics or related discipline preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma Experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and and written/verbal communication skills.
• Strong planning, change management and organizational skills.
• High degree of initiative, team building and dedication to effective positive change.
