Role description:
We are looking for dedicated, creative, and energetic candidates interested in tackling challenges and developing sustainable solutions to address water issues like quality, scarcity, reuse, management, and resilience. Collaborating with other experienced Water Professionals, you will support, manage, and drive development of projects, interact and work with clients, and develop your technical and professional capabilities.
Role accountabilities:
- Leading and directing the development of water / wastewater and stormwater projects as a client-facing project manager, leveraging the candidate’s experience in water distribution system, wastewater collection system, stormwater management, pump / lift station, and water / wastewater treatment facility engineering including investigations, studies, analysis, designs, and construction administration services.
- Managing the planning, design, and construction administration of projects to ensure compliance with contracts, drawings, specifications, codes, statutes, rules, and regulations, as well as Arcadis quality and safety practices.
- Communicate with clients, establishing goals and objectives for project teams, and scheduling and coordinating resources to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the performance expectations of the client.
- Provide technical expertise on multi-disciplined projects.
- Supervise and support the work of others while mentoring junior level engineers and technical staff.
- Work directly with clients to determine needs and deliver solutions and lead the growth of client relationships with target clients including City of Atlanta, DeKalb County, Gwinnett County, Paulding County, Cobb County and Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority.
- Lead teams in the marketing and proposal phases of projects including preparation of winning proposals and successful presentations, as well as developing scopes of work and budgets for various water, wastewater, and stormwater projects.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of water / wastewater and stormwater experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing small to large sized, multi-disciplined, municipal water, wastewater or stormwater projects with responsibilities similar to those described above.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field of study.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in GA or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
Key Skills and Abilities
- Project leadership and management experience including demonstrated experience leading and managing small to large size, multi-disciplined, water, wastewater or stormwater projects with construction values ranging from under $1M to several million dollars in the public or private sector.
- Team leadership experience including managing overall project delivery expectations, prioritizing tasks, and mentoring.
- Experience in the preparation of construction documents.
- Client management skills, including preparation and development of proposals and client relationship building.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Active in local professional associations, industry activities, and conferences.
Preferred qualifications
- 8+ years of water / wastewater and stormwater experience at a comparable engineering firm.
- Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field of study.
- Technical expertise and experience with water / wastewater projects.
- Knowledge and experience with the local municipalities in GA including City of Atlanta, DeKalb County, Gwinnett County, Paulding County, Cobb County and Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority.
- Successful record of managing client accounts, assisting in new client development, and leading project pursuits and pursuit teams, in a collaborative fashion, on a variety of opportunities.
- Active participation in regional and/or national professional association(s).
