The Web Developer is expected to not only be a programmer, but also a problem-solver and tech savvy individual. He or she must embrace challenges, learn quickly and stay up-to-date with the latest development frameworks and languages. The Developer works closely with all disciplines to create best-in-class digital experiences, adhering to all requirements, meeting usability expectations and following established development protocols. Qualified candidates will be proficient in front-end and server-side programming, including but not limited to HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP.
This person could be located in Kansas City, MO; Columbia, MO; or remote.
Requirements:Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use modern techniques, frameworks and languages to build best-in-class websites, applications and emails.
- Create new features and functionality on website and application platforms.
- Maintain and fix bugs on websites, applications and emails.
- Apply technical SEO best practices into code.
- Work as part of a team with collaboration across disciplines on project deliverables.
- Constantly seek to develop yourself by learning new technologies and keeping abreast of your market’s developments.
- Maintain a high awareness of industry issues and trends, particularly in regard to accessibility, usability and emerging technologies, and keeping team members informed as appropriate.
- Educate and guide other non-technical peers.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Working knowledge of HTML/XHTML, XML, JavaScript (JS), jQuery and CSS.
- Working knowledge of front-end JavaScript libraries (jQuery, Vue, React) and style frameworks (Bootstrap).
- Working knowledge of one or more of the following server-side programming abilities: PHP, NodeJS, .NET Framework, C# and/or Java.
- Working knowledge and experience with one or more of the following CMS platforms: WordPress, Drupal and/or Hubspot.
- Working knowledge and experience with one or more of the following email marketing or CRM platforms: SalesForce Marketing Cloud, Campaign Monitor and/or emfluence.
- Care for writing code and coding standards.
- Ability to effectively communicate in a proactive and positive manner, including sharing information in an easily digestible way with non-technical peers.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent time management to stay organized and meet deadlines.

Education/Experience/Certifications:
Associate or bachelor’s degree appropriate to supported area or in computer science.
Two or more years of relevant software engineering experience is required.
Digital/marketing agency experience is preferred, but not required.
