YSS Residential Addiction Treatment provides a successful, individualized, and evidence-based recovery program for youth ages 12 to 18 in a safe, homelike atmosphere. We understand substance abuse affects more than just the addict, our comprehensive approach incorporates support for the youth’s family and others in their support network.

The role:

As a Youth Recovery Specialist, you will care for youth while providing an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust. You will assist with their daily living routines and the general management of the house so that each resident can grow and develop as an individual. The position is one of supervision, engagement through skill-building sessions, and maintenance rather than therapy.

What you will need:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year of human services-related experience.
• Must be 21 years old with a valid driver's license to meet agency vehicle insurance requirements.
• Flexibility to serve on the on-call rotation and cover shifts, as needed.
• Recovering applicants must have a minimum of two years of continuous sobriety to be considered for this position.

What you will do:

• Relate to residents in a caring, supportive, and therapeutic manner dealing respectively with their thoughts, feelings, and choices.
• Provide the necessary structure to facilitate the growth and productive functioning of the facility.
• Provide for the daily maintenance of the house and assures that safe living conditions are provided in compliance with fire, safety, and health regulations.
• Supervise volunteers and substitute staff while on duty.
• Oversee nightly schedule for residents, including rooms in order and lights out, and maintain building security. Inspect the house to see that it is clean and orderly.
• Transport residents to meetings, work, doctor’s appointments, recreational activities, etc.
• Be on a rotating "on-call" for runaway reports and crises.
• Other duties as needed.
