This vacancy is located at SCLHSA's Lafourche Behavioral Health Center located in Raceland, LA. The incumbent will be responsible for multiple clerical tasks for Lafourche Behavioral Health Center located in the South Central Louisiana Human Services Authority (SCLHSA), including check-in, filing (reports, correspondence, medical records), routine typing and data entry using a computer. This position also provides reception services and the collection of preliminary consumer information.

To perform a variety of clerical duties that requires some independent judgment to accomplish in support of the staff members and/or operations of an organizational unit or program.
Employees follow detailed procedural guidelines in completing well-defined duties.

General from higher-level clerical and/or supervisory personnel.

Job Distinctions:
Differs from Administrative Coordinator 1 by the presence of responsibility for clerical duties that require some independent judgment to perform.
Differs from Administrative Coordinator 3 by the absence of advanced level duties that not only require some independent judgment, but also involve a greater scope and complexity.
40% Reception/Scheduling:
- Answers phones and route phone calls to the appropriate person(s). Takes complete and concise messages
- Greets clients at the window.
- Assists clients with complete check-in process via eCW kiosk as they arrive for appointments/group; ensures client information in eCW and all forms are up-to-date.
- Checks in clients for individual, group, doctor, appointments; completes work/school excuses.
- Helps maintain and coordinate computerized schedules for entire staff; this includes tracking schedules for no shows, crises, and cancelations as directed.
- Utilizes computer to manage daily schedules, compose letters, signs or labels as requires.
- Conducts interviews with new clients, which consist of explaining and completing various consents, obtaining proof of income (POI) and insurance information, and inputting guarantor and demographic data into eCW as needed.
- Meets with client to acquire signatures on consents and acknowledgements and review annual income (sliding scale) and/or insurance status.
- Performs annual updates on existing clients
- Completes Medicaid Applications with clients according to SCLSHA policies and procedures.
- Ensures front office clerical forms are current and makes copies.
- Make additional charts.
- Help file and pull charts daily when needed.
- Complete reminder calls.
- Check fax machine periodically to distribute information
- Check lobby periodically to make sure that brochures are orderly and fully stocked
Performs other duties as assigned, to ensure smooth operation of the agency policies, procedures, rules and regulations
