Position Summary: Architect Designer position at SCJ Alliance, in Gunnison/Crested Butte, Colorado, performing professional level planning, site layout, architectural and graphic design tasks for commercial, residential, educational, and resort projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (The intent of this list is to provide information regarding the types of duties of the position, but it is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities.)
- Ability to bring creative design ideas to a project and develop designs using typical architectural design tools
- Desire to play a key role within the firm
- Strong design and graphic skills that can be expressed in a variety of formats
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills that allow effective interaction with clients, agencies, co-workers and the public
- Communicate with design team members, manage tasks and scheduling of junior staff
- Professional oversight of junior staff, collaboration on design, redlines, reviews, overseeing the technical execution of work products
- Knowledge of local land use regulations and the ability to interpret land use language
- Assist in the development of programs, schematics, and concepts
- Assist in or develop construction specifications and construction details
- Perform construction on-site supervision, review shop drawings, submittals and RFI’s
- Participation in client meetings, public consultations, and presentation
Education, Experience, Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in architecture from an accredited college or university.
- 1 - 5 years of experience in the fields of architectural design, site planning, and site design.
- Experience utilizing AutoCAD and Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Sketchup or Rhino in your daily work at your prior place of employment
