POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a dynamic and engaging individual who is skilled at cultivating and maintaining positive, collaborative relationships with both community partners/service providers and families for the role as our A Family Place Bilingual Family Engagement and Enrollment Specialist. This position is responsible for supporting community outreach and family engagement initiatives for A Family Place programming (Parent Education, Healthy Families, and Relief Nursery) and is the first point of contact between families seeking services and A Family Place programs. This involves conducting extensive screening interviews as well as supporting enrollment efforts for potential A Family Place participants. This position must accurately enter information into client databases and provide additional referrals as needed. The position also requires the ability to adapt to changing client needs and make independent decisions based on the presented information. This position is full-time for 37.5 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support outreach and family engagement initiatives to increase community awareness of A Family Place programs, increase family enrollment, and strengthen community partnerships
- Cultivate and manage positive relationships with internal and external partnerships to increase family referrals for A Family Place services
- Represent AFP at county/community meetings to coordinate services for families (e.g., Service Integration Team meetings, Family CORE referral meetings, etc...)
- Conduct phone-based or face-to-face comprehensive Healthy Families and Relief Nursery screening interviews with families that live in Yamhill County:
- Assist families with the screening process in a professional and trauma-informed manner
- Accurately process screenings and accompanying documentation to verify eligibility, according to relevant program standards and agency policy and procedure
- Provide useful resources and referral recommendations (internal and external) to match the needs of families seeking services whenever appropriate.
- Provide care coordination for families, provide education and information on child development, provide advocacy and follow-up as needed
- Follow up with referral sources (social service providers, child welfare workers, child care programs, etc.)
- Update and monitor the parenting education website and promotional materials for each new group series offered
- Assist families interested in parenting education groups with the enrollment process and ensure a smooth transition into services
- Schedule enrollment visits for eligible families with the assigned home visitor
- Maintain real-time, accurate, complete, and confidential records including digital files and entry into multiple computer record systems/databases with a high degree of accuracy
- Submit and prepare reports as required
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the eligibility requirements for A Family Place programs
- As appropriate, coordinate with and provide general information pertaining to other community resources
- Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity in the delivery of client services as it relates to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of populations served
- The ability to read, write, and speak fluently in both English and Spanish is required
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends (workweek schedule is flexible)
- Knowledge of child development and parenting education
- Ability to give presentations to groups
- Understanding of diverse cultural, geographic, economic, and social issues that impact families and ability to work effectively with diverse families
- Intermediate computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Google Docs, Sheets, email, and other computer software
- Experience completing data entry with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to be very organized regarding paperwork, be detailed oriented and have the ability to effectively prioritize work responsibilities
- Ability to adapt, work effectively under pressure, and work with adults who have a variety of stresses/challenges (e.g., cognitive delays, chemical dependency, mental illness)
- Experience de-escalating crisis situations and providing trauma-informed client services
- Experience coordinating with other professionals and social service agencies
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse work environment
- Ability to adapt to changing client needs and make independent decisions based on those needs
- Open to reflective practice (i.e. has capacity for introspection, communicates awareness of self in relation to others, recognizes the value of supervision, etc.)
