Harken Cafe & Bakery is looking for a BOH/Baker position. No experience is needed, as long as you are a good fit we are able to train you on everything. Our main priority is that you are someone with a strong work ethic + share our company values.
This position is truly meant for any age - we have a team comprised of high school students, college students, post college students/young adults, Mothers + professionals. All ages are encouraged to apply.
This could be a job you apply for because you love food and want to learn more, you could be someone who has worked in food and want a better work environment, or you could be someone who wants a new career.
The main thing is: you enjoy food, good company + being part of a hard working team.
A few examples of what you will learn to do:
- make all our menu items from scratch
- prep items in advance for service
- make breakfast items to order
- prepare lunch salads + sandwiches
- make our homemade breads (focaccia, biscuits, country loaf)
We ask that you have:
- Desire to work in a cafe bakery
- Love or interest of food
- Time-management skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
- Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
- Flexibility
