The Building Maintenance Technician is an important member of the Service team, and is responsible for a wide variety of maintenance, improvement and/or repair tasks. He/She will coordinate and prioritize maintenance requests in cooperation with the Service Manager, will source and purchase any repair parts, items, or supplies needed, and will complete tasks on time and on budget. He/She must have the ability to work respectfully with other departments, vendors, customers and co-workers.
Primary Accountabilities:
· Perform building maintenance, improvements, and/or repairs, coordinating and prioritizing requests with the Service Manager
· Responding to emergency maintenance needs quickly and efficiently, assessing the situation and taking appropriate actions, seeking out necessary approvals
· Source and purchase repair parts, items and/or supplies as needed through approved vendors
· Provide quality control by test driving repaired vehicles
· Take on special projects and/or provide support to other areas/departments as directed by the Service Manager or other Senior Leadership
· Complete required training within specified time limits
Qualifications that a candidate MUST possess to gain consideration for this position:
· Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a building maintenance or similar position
· Valid CDL New York State Driver License
· Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools
· Must have good judgment, attention to detail, problem solving skills, and adapt to change readily
· Must be willing to learn and be certified in operating motorized warehouse equipment
· Must have the ability to frequently lift a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance
· Must be a team player with a strong sense of commitment to the customer
Training/Educational Requirements:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
