Part-time position, 20 hours per week
Minimum Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in social work, psychology, counseling or a related behavioral health field preferred or completion of required CADC coursework, working toward clinical hours and bachelor’s degree.
2. Two years’ supervised experience working in addictions field with knowledge of co-occurring disorders and trauma-informed care.
3. Working knowledge of NJSAMS and ASAM criteria preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide full range of case management services to IOP, substance use, co-occurring disorder clients as follows referrals, linkage and advocacy to housing, financial, medical, educational, vocational, legal, spiritual and other needed/indicated community resources and services in support of consumer recovery and community integration.
- Provide alcohol and substance use counseling in both individual and group formats.
- Complete all aspects of NJSAMS relevant to IOP services in a timely manner and obtain appropriate supervisory signatures.
- Ensure all services are aligned with treatment goals and documented accordingly.
- Document all counseling, case management and education services, assessments, reassessments, referrals and follow-up in the client’s electronic record in a timely manner, including necessary supervisory signatures.
- Review client cases with treatment team to assess according to ASAM criteria to determine the need for continued services, transfer or discharge/transfer.
- Coordination with referral sources, (for example, mental health treatment providers, criminal justice agencies and/or DCP&P).
- Timely completion of NJSAMS for intakes, program level changes and discharges.
- Timely completion of reports for supervisor review (probation, DCPP, SAI).
- Case service assessment and coordination to ensure holistic management of clients’ total health, treatment and recovery needs and goals.
- Facilitate and/or arrange for transportation services for clients to afford access to resources and services.
- Work with IOP driver to facilitate transportation needs of clients to/from program.
- Orient clients to program including understanding of guidelines and expectations.
- Conduct random urine drug screens according to agency policy.
- Coordinate as necessary with psychiatric staff to address client concerns/needs.
- Meet with supervisor on a weekly basis.
- Participate in regularly scheduled program meetings and attend scheduled administrative/clinical/agency meetings.
- Take responsibility for professional development and meeting CADC and/or other requirements for maintaining credentials through attendance at relevant workshops and seminars.
- Participate in agency and program performance improvement activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
