We're hiring Bus Driver Trainees in multiple locations!

In this role, you will attend and participate in an all-paid training to obtain Commercial Driver License (CDL), and learn all safety procedures to onboard, transport, and off-board a variety of passengers. Pay increased upon successful completion of training!

Primary Responsibilities

· Assist passengers while boarding and off-boarding the vehicle using proper safety techniques. Passengers may require additional assistance with walking or with wheelchair maneuvering.

· Execute proper techniques to secure the wheelchair in the company vehicle and ensure passengers are belted during transport.

· Ensure that passengers are off the vehicle at last drop-off by walking down the aisle to ensure that no one is on board and if personal items were left in the vehicle.

· Maintain orderliness in the vehicle.

· Visualize passengers entering the building or leave the passenger in the care of a facility/program staff member.

· Be receptive to coaching and guidance from the assigned trainer.

· Attend and participate in CDL test training class and successfully pass CDL written tests.

· Prepare for CDL road tests by learning and applying pre-trip and post-trip procedures.

· Be receptive to coaching and guidance from the assigned trainer.

Skills & Abilities

· Bend and squat while negotiating the small confines of the vehicle while attaching and detaching securement systems

· Sit for extended periods of time

· Navigate with GPS and understand how to read and follow a map

· Be able to perform in all types of weather conditions including snow, rain, sun, and darkness

· Lift a minimum of 50 lbs. -Push and pull a minimum of 250 lbs.

· Must pass DOT medical exam and drug test

· Minimum age 21

· High school diploma or GED

· Able to speak, read, and write English

· Availability to work flexible split shifts between 6:00 am-6:00 pm preferred
