The Licensed Clinician assists sentenced and pre-trial men and women with substance use disorder in their efforts to remain drug free once released from incarceration.
GRADE: 12
- Conduct screenings and intake assessments to identify potential medically assisted treatment (MAT) participants and to identify addiction, mental health, and other treatment needs.
- Administer and score the ASUS-R (Adult Substance Use Survey-Revised), the GAIN-SS (Global Appraisal for Individual Need – Short Screen), and LSI-R:SV (Level of Service-Revised: Screening Version) as part of intake to assist in identifying individuals with opioid use and/or mental health disorders.
- Facilitate/co-facilitate MAT education groups and weekly Recovery/Relapse Prevention groups to clients prior to release.
- Conduct individual sessions with program participants one to two months prior to release to provide counseling, monitor completion of participants’ interactive journaling assignments, and develop reentry/recovery plans for post-release.
- Manage re-entry for participants, including establishing a home plan, making referrals for community-based medical, MAT, mental health, and other services, and initiating or reinstating MassHealth coverage
- Provide clinical supervision for Recovery Coaches.
- Participate in Sheriff’s Office Human Service team meetings to ensure and develop systems of communication, effective treatment, continuum of care and aftercare for offenders.
- Work in a team model with both uniformed and non-uniformed treatment staff to ensure therapeutic community and continuity of care standards throughout the facility.
- Coordinate with Classification Staff and Reintegration Coordinator to facilitaty reintegration planning for inmates nearing release or parole.
Qualifications
- MA/MS with LICSW/LSW/LMHC
- Experience with MAT (Medical Assisted Treatment) and cognitive behavioral treatment (preferred)
- Five years’ experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and/or mental health issues.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
- Must demonstrate good written and oral communication skills.
