Responsibilities:

• Support people as they engage in meaningful community-based services and creative programming
• Develop soft skills in adults with disabilities, including teamwork, social skills, decision making, problem-solving, self-management and adaptability
• Promote independence while adding creative structures to the daily lives of individuals through Community Based Programming
• Provide quality attention and supervision to each individual within small groups

Qualifications:

• Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a willingness to transport clients in your vehicle
• In order to provide transportation, the candidate must be 18 years of age or older.
• Similar roles with transferable experience are paraprofessional, social worker, caregiver, CNA, teachers, counselor, childcare provider
• Able to perform the physical demands of the position may include but are not limited to:
  • Physically intervening with clients that pose a safety threat to themselves or others utilizing NVCI-approved techniques,
  • Working with unpredictable and aggressive clients and may be expected to be alone with them in the community or in their homes, and
  • Maintaining calm and professionally intervening with clients during escalated/crisis moments.
• Due to the nature of the work performed at Sample Supports, and that this position works with an at risk population, we do require a criminal background check be completed.
