Learning Opportunities/Quality Works, Inc. (LOQW), has job openings in the Hannibal area for Direct Support Professionals (DSP). LOQW Mission is to positively impact the lives of individuals with disabilities through Support, Advocacy and Connections to Resources. LOQW assists individuals to fully engage in their community based on their individual goals of community membership and employment. The current position is full time with an hourly rate of $15.00 per hour, depending upon experience and qualifications.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

• Prefer 4 year degree from accredited college, will consider a high school diploma/GED with equivalent work experience
• Ability to pass all appropriate and required background screenings
• The ability to perform all essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations
• Must have a current valid driver’s license and be willing to obtain a Missouri Class E (Chauffeur's) License

Responsibilities:

• Supporting an individuals career planning and discovery of talent
• Provide on the job support/coaching as needed to employees with disabilities
• Develop relationships with employers and act as a mediator as needed between the employer and the employee
• Provide support to individuals with disabilities in their home and community settings
• Typical tasks would include supporting someone to learn to budget money, shop, explore new hobbies and develop new interests along with other daily living skills
• Strong documentation skills and a connection to the community are a must

The person we are looking for must be professional and have a high regard for customer service and satisfaction, a strong work ethic, good organizational skills, problem solving skills. Successful employees in this position are creative, energetic, friendly, and community minded. They must also take an active interest in people with disabilities and must be able to work independently and communicate with others effectively.
