Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain exercise systems (M&S and C2) that are used to support MCLOG exercises/training events/wargames, and exercises/training events/wargames in which MCLOG participates.
Install updates and maintain patches for all exercise systems used by MCLOG during MCLOG exercises/training events/wargames and exercises/training events/wargames in which MCLOG participates (see Note 1-2). When exercise systems performance issues are discovered, conduct troubleshooting of the affected system(s), conduct maintenance actions that are authorized at the using unit level and if external maintenance support is required submit maintenance support requests in accordance with established procedures.- Federate modeling and simulation systems with C2 systems during exercises/training events/wargames.
- Ensure that simulation systems appropriately stimulate C2 systems during MCLOG exercises/training events/wargames, and exercises/training events/wargames in which MCLOG participates in order for the training audience to effectively experience the artificial operating environment.
- Perform simulation experimentation, development, and testing (simulation-to-simulation and simulation-to-stimulation) of MCLOG-generated products (e.g., Exercise Development Tool (EDT), Batch File Generator, Automated Convoy Load Planner Application, etc.) and other off-the-shelf simulation capabilities.
- Provide system administration support for all exercise systems used by MCLOG during MCLOG exercises/training events/wargames and exercises/training events/wargames in which MCLOG participates (see Note 1).
- Provide exercise systems (C2/M&S) instruction to MCLOG personnel focused on interoperability of these systems during exercise execution.
- Train users on C2 system employment, technical queries and Combat Operations Center (COC) setup during exercises.8. Research and develop expertise on emergent M&S and C2 systems and technologies not limited to but including the Joint Tactical COP Workstation (JTCW), Tactical COP Server (TCS) and data integration from simulation systems into C2 systems.
- Create and maintain constructive-based training scenarios such as: organizational databases, tactics, weapon system capabilities, doctrine, and force structures for future use.
- Prepare written simulation control plans for all simulation exercises/training events/wargames.
- Participate in exercise/wargame planning and design (e.g., Concept Development Conference (CDC), Initial Planning Conference (IPC), Main Planning Conference (MPC), and Final Planning Conference (FPC)) to support MCLOG exercises/training events/wargames and exercises/training events/wargames in which MCLOG participates.
Position Details
- Located at MCLOG in Twentynine Palms, CA
- Digital products created or modified outside of simulation systems shall be produced in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and/or SharePoint.
- Continuous proficiency installing, configuring, operating, troubleshooting and maintaining the virtual and constructive simulation systems used most commonly by MCLOG: MAGTF Tactical Warfare Simulation System (MTWS), Joint Deployment Logistics Model (JDLM), and Deployable Virtual training Environment (DVTE) with all associated applications (VBS, CAN, etc.).
- Capable, with sufficient lead time (at least 30 calendar days notice) of installing, configuring, operating, troubleshooting and maintaining other virtual and constructive simulation systems that are used less commonly by MCLOG such as: Joint Low Overhead Driver (JLOD), Joint Conflict And Tactical Simulation (JCATS), Combined Arms Command and Control, Training Upgrade System (CACCTUS), Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC), Low, Overhead Training Simulation (LOTS), Joint Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF), Air Warfare Simulation (AWSIM), Warfighter Simulation (WARSIM), etc.

(1) A representative list of exercise systems (Modeling & Simulation /Command & Control) encountered during exercise design/execution: Transportation Capacity Planning Tool (TCPT), Global Command and Control System Joint (GCCS-J), Family of system so Joint Tactical Common Operating Picture (COP) Workstation (JTCW), Tactical COP Server (TCS), Command and Control Personal Computer (C2PC), Common Logistics Command and Control System (CLC2S), MAGTF Intelligence Analyst System Family of Systems (MAGTF IAS FOS), Intelligence Analyst Workstation (IOW), Joint Battle Command – Platform (JBC-P), Intelligence Analyst Server (IOS), Intelligence Server Windows (ISW), DoD Intelligence Information Systems (DoDIIS), GCCS-I3, Intelligence Operations Server (IOS), MAGTF Tactical Warfare Simulation System (MTWS), Joint Deployment Logistics Model (JDLM), and Deployable Virtual training Environment (DVTE)/Virtual Battle Space 3 (VBS3).
(2) MCLOG retains the ability to conduct up to two (2) constructive exercises at once or one (1) multi-echelon exercise at a time.
Qualifications:
- Secret Clearance
- Military Experience in Joint Exercises level involving combat service support units and related equipment
- Knowledge of military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships at the Joint operational command level.
- Requires experience in exercises/simulation control (EXCON/SIMCOM)
- Salary for this position is $80,000-$85,000
