Utility Worker/Dishwasher $16.64/hr and Shift Differentials for working 2nd* shift & Weekends: $0.75/hr*
When serving in this assignment, this individual is responsible for maintaining clean, sanitary conditions in the kitchen including all china, silverware, glassware, pots, pans and equipment. They maintain high standards of kitchen sanitation according to CJE SeniorLife standards. This position reports to the Executive Chef or Dining Services Director.
Maintain sanitary condition of dishes, utensils, glasses, pots, pans, equipment and kitchen in accordance with Senior Lifestyle Corporation standards

• Safely and efficiently operate dish washing machine according to procedure manual
• Ensure proper soap and rinse chemicals are loaded for washing
• Remove from service any dishes, utensils, and glassware that are damaged or broken
• Stock delivered food and non-food items
• Keep stock rooms, coolers & freezers clean and ensures that food supply stocks are rotated, all perishables are covered, labeled, dated and stored properly.
• Empty and clear garbage bins and breakdown of boxes
• Wash all carts and garbage bins
• Deep cleaning of kitchen floors, walls and equipment
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
• Perform all duties in adherence to Senior Lifestyle Corporation standards.
• Strive to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors and coworkers.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures of Senior Lifestyle Corporation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Ensure equipment temperature maintenance.
• Attend all required training, in services, and staff meetings. Meet all department training standards through regulatory training and/or other necessary training modules as required.
• Perform all duties in adherence to CJE SeniorLife standard. Adhere to all CJE SeniorLife policies and procedures.
• Affect budgets by avoiding waste of products and time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily (Reference Essential Duties and Responsibilities). Associate must pass Illinois Food Handler Course within 60 days of hire. Three attempts will be provided to pass this course within the first 60 days of hire. In the event that the associate does not pass the course termination will be pursued. This certification must be maintained throughout the course of employment.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must meet state and local health requirements for food handlers. Must possess valid food handlers permit

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Sufficient manual dexterity to operate a fire extinguisher and to manipulate kitchen equipment, including slicer, chopper, processor, knives, etc.
