Eligibility Screening Services, LLC (ESS) is an affiliated subsidiary of Community Health Systems (CHS) that began in 2008. ESS holds a corporate office in Cane Ridge/ Antioch, TN that encompasses all facets of corporate support and our Coverage Discovery Unit. The Coverage Discovery team is an integral component for the success of the company. Our staff assists individuals within our hospital communities to potentially secure assistance for medical expenses via government programs or financial counseling. We expect a high standard of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality from our staff in regards to our clients, and in return ESS staff will receive that same amount of customer service from the leadership within the organization.

We are seeking individuals wishing to make a difference for a Healthcare Coverage Discovery Representative position. This position would be for Full Time hours (40 hours per week), and offer an opportunity for flexible start and end times for their designated schedule of Monday - Thursday 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM.

As a Healthcare Coverage Discovery Representative located at the ESS Corporate Office, you would have the following job duties:

• Place outbound and answer inbound phone calls in a professional and courteous manner, taking appropriate action on the account, and entering in accurate notes.
• Screen patients using a positive, respectful, and courteous tone demonstrating a high level of customer service.

• Utilize screening, determination forms and technology to assist self-pay patients in identification of state, federal and local programs as well as applying for possible eligible programs and financial aid.
• Assist patients by informing patient of all papers and proof necessary to accompany the application.
• Collaborates with onsite eligibility representatives to assist patients through the eligibility process.
• Enter and update correct patient data into the computer data bases. Review and follow-up on patient accounts in a timely manner. Maintain and update all patient accounts to reflect current information in a timely manner.
• Maintain Call Center standards for Quality and Productivity.
• Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning the personal, financial, medical, or employment status of patients and their families.
• Comply with company policy and procedures and pertinent laws or regulations. Adhere to established workflow and documentation procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

In order to be considered for the Healthcare Coverage Discovery Representative position, you must meet the following qualifications:

• Prior experience in collections and knowledge of HIPAA, EMTALA, and PHI are a plus.
• Medical insurance background is a plus

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is a plus, and must be comfortable working in multiple computer systems and applications simultaneously.
• Must be able to work in a high call volume call center environment with both inbound and outbound calls.
• Have great attention to detail.
• Be flexible, and have the ability to multitask.
• Be able to meet deadlines and productivity standards
• Must possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Working knowledge of government programs funded by local, state, or federal entities a plus.
• Capable of practicing strong human relations skills, such as empathy for others.
• Ability to pass drug and background checks required.
• Pay is based on applicable experience.
• Position involves long periods of sitting, heavy data entry, and heavy telephone work.
• Reliable transportation and proof of a valid license and auto insurance required.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
