Our client, a well known banking financial institution, is seeking an INTERIM Assistant Controller. Cadidate MUST have Commercial Banking Experience!
The Interim Assistant Controller is responsible for leading and directing the day-to-day Accounting Operations. Reporting directly to the CFO and the Interim Controller will be focused on developing and performing the accounting and financial control functions.
Responsibilities
Manages the day-to-day activities of the Bank’s General Ledger, Investments, Loans, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable and Bank reconciliation functions
Assist internal and external auditors during examination processes
Manages the treasury function within Finance, including investments, borrowings, liquidity, and asset/liability management
Review monthly and quarterly regulatory and management reports
Responsible for updating relevant treasury policies and procedures and ensuring full compliance
Responsible for the review and approval of all period-end closing entries, and coordination with the Controller on adjustments for appropriateness, consistency, and conformance with G.A.A.P. and regulatory requirements
Act as a liaison to other departments regarding accounting matters and issues that affect the Bank’s financials
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance.
- Public accounting experience/MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ Accounting Supervisory experience in a retail banking institution.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and accounting software.
- Ability to make sound judgments and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
