Compensation: $22.06 - $22.06/hr.

Skookum is seeking an ambitious and consistent Laborer with a helpful attitude.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

• The Laborer loads and unloads trucks, and other conveyances, moves supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrow or hand truck; stacks materials for storage or binning, collects refuse and salvageable materials, and digs, fills, and tamps earth excavations.

• The Laborer levels ground using pick, shovel, tamper and rake, shovels concrete and snow; cleans culverts and ditches, cuts tree and brush; operates power lawnmowers, moves and arranges heavy pieces of office and household furniture, equipment, and appliance, moves heavy pieces of automotive, medical engineering, and other types of machinery and equipment, spreads sand and salt on icy roads and walkways, picks up leaves and trash, cleans roofs and gutters.

• General Grounds Maintenance: litter control, weed eating and mowing, snow removal – shoveling walkways and spreading dicer, remove litter and debris from Skookum controlled parking areas, empty outdoor trash cans, empty cigarette disposal containers, assists in road patching.

• Sweep, mop and vacuum designated areas, general cleaning of all work areas and kitchen areas.

• Assist with customer requests, such as staging chairs and light sets for events on and off the installation, removal of used pallets and used packing materials to the proper disposal areas.

Qualifications:

• Experience in facilities maintenance support is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

• Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

• Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

• Valid state driver license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum’s insurance carrier.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
