Tacony is excited to announce its search for a Machine Operator. This role is responsible for operating the injection molding machines as well as any other equipment as part of the molding process. This role includes maintaining quality standards through repeated visual inspections.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate machinery following required safety requirements while focusing on quality
• Maintain the plan in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Ensure both beginning and end of shift equipment checks are completed, daily.
• Disconnect water lines and blow out remaining water from mold and lines
• Connect crane to stationary and moveable side of mold and disconnect mold clamps
• Remove ejector bolts and rods and unclamp stationary side of mold
• Lift mold out of press with crane, place on skid and return to mold rack
• Insert next mold into press by reversing the steps above
• Confirm correct material and drier temp for hopper
• Evaluate parts against “last piece” from Quality Control
• Purge new color or material from barrel of machine
• Start machine with new mold
• Perform filing and/or secondary functions essential for production
• Ensure specification conformance by inspecting products with precision measuring instruments to identify any surface and dimension defects
• Interact with operations, logistics, shippers, human resources and employees
• Perform additional related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

Qualifications

• High school diploma required
• Previous experience working with molding machinery preferred
• Must exhibit a positive attitude, team spirit, cooperation and a willingness to learn
• Ability to understand and communicate with and follow oral and written material

Environment & Physical Requirements

• Exposed to a normal manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to stand, walk, kneel or crouch for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds regularly.
• May be exposed to mechanical or electrical hazards, therefore personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
• Ability to bend, stoop, twist, pull, walk, stretch, reach or lift over head
