Job Summary:
Responsible for creating and maintaining mechanical machinery designs to meet customer needs. Supports all phases of design through manufacturing including installation, warranty and post warranty phases. Creates 3D models and assemblies and manufacturing drawings. Interfaces with suppliers as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops detailed drawings and specifications for equipment and part tooling using SolidWorks/Inventor
  • Ability to generate complete machine concepts with little direction
  • Designs all aspects of custom equipment systems including automation, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and time and motion studies with little direction
  • Manages mechanical upgrades and changes for equipment and facilities
  • Supports design, development, and review of division processes (SOP)
  • Drives change process with active feedback from customers, assemblers, and field service personnel
  • Participates in continuous improvement projects related to cost reduction, workflow, product development and manufacturing/assembly methods
  • Monitors project cost vs. budget and execution vs. timeline milestones
  • Participates in customer equipment diagnostics and repair
  • Develops and delivers machine training to customer
  • Develops equipment documentation including manuals and recall letters
  • Support warranty process and resolution with vendors

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience:
5 years’ experience in Engineering related to the design and manufacture of custom equipment

Specific Skills:
Experience designing and manufacturing custom equipment required Experience sizing water pumps, gear motors, and cylinders required with Experience with standard fabrication methods required Experience with Time & Motion studies required. Robotic TM study experience a plus Ability to write sequence of operations for controls engineering and automation required Solidworks/Inventor experience required, 5 years. SW Certifications a plus Ability to travel up to 5%, including international travel
