Facility: Sangamon County Jail

Location: Springfield, IL

Shift: Day Shift, Part Time, 12 hour shifts 6am-6pm

JOB DESCRIPTION

• 
  Maintains an orderly, clean, and safe work area.
• Participates in response to emergency situations as they occur.
• Checks daily functionality of medical emergency equipment.
• Completion and processing required medical summaries and reports.
• Assisting with CQI activities through data collection and reporting.
• Provides care under the direction of the medical staff. These cares may include obtaining, recording and reporting vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, pulse oximetry), reporting information to nurse on-call, assisting a licensed nurse or practitioner with sick call of the inmates.
• Provides information by answering questions and requests from staff, inmates, and outside sources as directed by the supervising nurse.
• Completes assigned tasks given by medical staff as well as tasks in line with the duties of the position.
• Providing or assisting patients with performing activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, incontinent care and grooming.
• Assisting patients with set-up, fresh water for hydration, feeding, recording intake and output. Reviewing diet orders for meal consistency or thickened liquids and ensuring the appropriate diet is ordered. Reporting dietary noncompliance to the nurse on duty.
• Any and all other duties as assigned.
  
  REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• • 
    Graduation from an accredited program
  • Successfully pass a national certification exam
  • Current certification in good standing.
  • At least one year of experience
  • Current CPR card
  • The CNA must comply with all current and future state, federal and local laws and regulations.
  • The CNA must be able to comply with court orders, medical department rules and the policies and procedures of the county jail.
