BBSI is currently recruiting for a Penetrant Line Operator for our aerospace manufacturing client in SE Portland/Milwaukie.

Penetrant Line Operators apply fluorescent penetrant to castings as part of the inspection process. Each day, these Operators ensure castings are produced to company and customer standards through tasks such as:

• Completing all steps in the prep and application of penetrant to castings
• Visually inspecting castings for surface dirt, and cleaning and degreasing as needed
• Maintaining equipment and work area
• Creating a safe work environment by following all safety protocols and practices

This is a great entry-level opportunity for an individual starting out in a manufacturing career. While training is provided on-the-job, some experience in manufacturing is preferred. The minimum skills needed for this position include:

• High school diploma or GED (needed for NDT certification)
• Ability to write, read, and follow specifications on Technical Cards
• Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing twenty to forty pounds, and occasionally up to eighty pounds

This job requires individuals to work in conditions that may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, and other elements for extended periods of time. All PPE and other recommended safety protocols will be followed.
