Position Focus:
Based at the Yale School of the Environment, we conduct scientific research on public climate change knowledge, attitudes, policy preferences, and behavior, and the underlying psychological, cultural, and political factors that influence them. We also engage the public in climate change science and solutions, in partnership with governments, media organizations, companies, and civil society, and with a daily, national radio program, Yale Climate Connections. The Program Administrator reports to the Director and will work closely with the broader YPCCC team of 16 to 18. The ideal PA is organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about coordinating the growing project docket of the YPCCC and supporting the development of the unit. The successful PA will play a critical role in supporting a growing program that is increasingly global in its networks and impacts. Supports the Director in assigning and delegating tasks. Organizes Director's email. Coordinates schedule and calendars for the YPCCC team. Assists with travel arrangements. Takes notes/Salesforce entries. Interacts with staff to gather information and/or provide requested information (support project management, e.g., maintain Smartsheet). Provides report writing support. Provides grant writing support. Provides appropriate information when necessary, during periods of Director unavailability. Assists Director with, and oversees the organization and coordination of, team meetings, conferences, events. travel, etc. Prepares and collects documents and materials. Arranges and prepares agenda / materials. Take meeting notes. Screens, directs, and responds to all external inquiries or correspondence by obtaining and furnishing information (climatechange@yale.edu). Coordinates requests for media interviews.
