Job Summary
The Buyer should seek potential suppliers for I-Shift components providing containers, electronic components, electrical harnesses FSS systems, HVAC system, module provider. The Buyer should be able to issue and validate the RFQs of these providers and conduct a cost analysis and identify risks (quality or supply chain). The Buyer is responsible for all aspects of maintaining and executing a plan in order to ensure a timely order and delivery of materials that supports the production plan, engineering material requests, site material or services, and other related internal customer requests. Program Buyer must have a strong engineering background on electrical and electronic components.

Responsibilities
- Seek local suppliers for the I-Shift.
- Coordinate with engineering, program and quality management to understand relocation challenges effecting I-Shift BOM.
- Conduct interpretation of drawings and technical characteristics to be submitted through the RFQs.
- Analyze cost impacts of the supplier relocations including the IRA and USA ITC incentives.
- Manage and coordinate all non-production related purchases from order conception to invoice payment to supplier.
- Resolve defective or unacceptable goods or services through RC/CA means with Quality, end user and suppliers.
- Address GR/IR issues that may arise, with coordination and assistance through the CS.
- Participate in meetings with presentation of supporting data on issues concerning your functional area.
- Support supply chain program initiatives.
- Coordinate activities involved with resolution of non-conforming material or service.
- Monitor supply chain components inventory, identifying risk in proper time to react.
- Ownership of special analytical projects assigned by the SCM.
- Support “World Class” and Safety initiatives in order to improve the overall performance of the company.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 4-year college degree with business / technical background desired.
- Minimum of 5-8 years progressively responsible purchasing (purchasing related) experience in a manufacturing environnement with engineering interface.
- Senior knowledge level of purchasing principles, strong negotiation skills, computer techniques, and manufacturing process. Supply Chain methodology and project/program management experience, basic understanding of engineering terminology. Mechanical parts and chemical purchasing experience.
- Possess a well-developed understanding of business principles with effective communicative skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills.
