Purchasing Assistant Job at Burke E. Porter Machinery
We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and driven Purchasing Assistant to join our Purchasing team.
Responsible for procurement of materials in assigned areas. Develop and coordinate all supplier contacts and act as team leader on supplier-related projects. Communicate any material problems and lead in finding solutions. Work closely with engineering, production planning, and other key personnel to ensure that requirements are met to support current and future production. Understand and maintain the computerized procurement system to provide accurate information to all BEP departments.
- Place orders from confirmed advice as needed.
- Contact suppliers to follow up on late/unconfirmed orders.
- Issue Request for Quotes as needed.
- Contact suppliers to arrange for the return/replacement of defective items. Create and distribute required forms.
- Assist with Shipping / Receiving as needed.
- Review and arrange for the return of excess/unused materials for credit or sale.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be required to meet departmental requirements.
- Experience with Microsoft Office
