The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for understanding production methods of various thermally processed fruit products, including required in-process, post- process, and packaging testing methods, auditing in-process and production record documentation, auditing of daily forms, maintaining all quality system parameters, administering holds and releases in Blue Yonder and assist in training employees to perform such tasks per prescribed procedures uniformly to ensure documentation meets company specifications in a fast paced food production facility.

The salary range for this position is: $37,648 - $60,112

Responsibilities:

  • Attend DMC Thermal Process Workshops.
  • Maintain Food Safety and HACCP plans to attain product safety and quality.
  • Evaluate and audit plant production, warehouse label line and quality documentation to ensure compliance with Company policies.
  • Initiates immediate corrective action for all deviations found during in-process and records audits.
  • Maintain Food Safety controls including PDR/RO inventory controls, hold data bases, verification audits, Allergen Programs, thermal processing records and forms, and production records and forms (i.e. x-ray, dud detection, fill height, can code and label verification forms, and label change over procedures).
  • Maintain, review, update, verify internal production forms, computer programs, and electronic specifications.
  • Maintain Company Manufacturing Specifications and Policies, Procedures, & Methods manuals.
  • Assist as needed with training seasonal and regular employees on all testing forms.
  • Maintain, revise, develop, implement, and audit compliance to documented plant/warehouse specific standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain, revise, develop, and implement all training materials including training manuals, Power Point presentations, position specific testing procedures, training record documentation, and annual recaps.
  • Ensures compliance with all approved and applicable safety rules in the employee's area of responsibility.
  • Supports, facilitates and assists in the implementation of the facility's Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in performing various seasonal tasks and completing special projects as directed by management.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • BS degree preferred in a science or tech related field (food science, biology, chemistry, IT).
  • Experience may be substituted for formal education
  • The ability to effectively communicate deviations to operators, crew leaders, and supervisors to ensure correct and timely corrective action is initiated.
  • Work experience in Quality and/or Food Processing preferred. Strong organizational skills
  • Intermediate Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, SAP, Blue Yonder, et. al)
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills
  • Solid/Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Must possess and display professional and respectful customer service skills
  • General manufacturing practices for food processing
  • Have strong knowledge and understanding of GMPs, processing requirements, and procedures.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to endure wet canning facility environment
  • Must be able to climb stairs, occasionally.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop and walk, occasionally to frequently.
  • Must be able to sit sustained periods of time, frequently.
  • Must be able to wear protective clothing -bump cap, glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, hair/beard nets frequently.
