Purpose
Under the direction of the Manager of Emergency Services, the Recovery House Coordinator provides short term case management services to adult males leaving a detoxification center and/or waiting for or just leaving an inpatient treatment facility. Services are of limited duration; 60-90 days. The case manager seeks to create and maintain an atmosphere that reflects the core values of Trauma Informed Service: Safety, Trustworthiness, Choice, Collaboration and Empowerment. The coordinator provides direct supervision and program management, training, and professional development to all Residential Staff within Recovery House.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide linkages to clients who are in need of social, mental health, educational, vocational, recreational, transportation, spiritual and/or substance use.
- Provide transportation to appointments for clients as appropriate.
- Counsel clients to assist them with following their recovery service plans.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other agencies and social service providers.
- Oversee intake, departures, and daily roster and programs. Supervise resident drug screens.
- Enforce house rules and supervise resident chores and conduct weekly house meetings.
- Attend weekly and monthly agency, program and network meetings.
- Maintain and update all required charting and notes as required by DMHAS, VA, and other related duties as assigned to support a 17-client case load.
- Enter and maintain all client charts accurately and timely into the Homeless Management Information System Database Case Worthy.
- Hire, train, and supervise all residential program staff, providing all necessary oversight and supervision and ensuring consistency and continuity of services rendered.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in human services or related fields or five years’ experience as case manager working in human services or related fields.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a deadline-oriented mindset.
- Strong written and oral communication skills employing the English language.
- Proficient is Microsoft Office and other common desk top applications.
- Able to effectively use the local network of substance abuse, mental health, and social services providers.
- Familiar with criminal justice and able to engage, manage, motivate, and support.
- Familiar with mental health, substance abuse and dual diagnosis issues and group dynamics.
- Complete knowledge base of all aspects of the delivery of person-centered case management.
- Able to meet all documentation requirements.
- Knowledgeable about crisis intervention, boundaries, confidentiality, universal precautions, harm reduction, trauma informed care, and motivational interviewing.
- Valid drivers’ license with a good driving history

Schedule: Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
