Manager, Maintenance Scheduling
Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Manager, Maintenance Scheduling at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties):
Oversee, attendance, tardiness, illness/time-off and administer procedures relevant to CBA agreements and University policy. Perform staff counsel and disciplinary processes for violations and document progressive actions in conjunction with WSU Human Resources and Labor Relations support.
Support the Maintenance Planner ensuring that all routine maintenance activities are appropriately planned (resources, parts, tooling) and scheduled (with Production and Maintenance) so that the work progresses in a safe, efficient and repeatable manner. Maintain a strong line of communication on status of completed work orders and findings. Act as Liaison between production and maintenance.
Use the Computerized Maintenance Management work order system (CMMS), to properly sequence all work order activities, assets, resource requirements into a daily (24hr) schedule which will be utilized by the day and night shift to facilitate orderly execution of all repair activities. Maintain a minimum of a seven-day rolling maintenance scheduled based within the current weekly schedule.
Work with planners to review work order backlog and ensure jobs with highest priorities are planned in a timely fashion.
Confirm work order priority and date needed/wanted. Update the planner daily on incomplete work orders requiring rescheduling. Evaluate discretionary work orders and determine if feasible.
Ensure equipment is ready for maintenance when planned work kits are provided by the Maintenance Planners.
Ensure scheduling basis includes an appropriate amount of preventative maintenance work versus corrective work and backlog age (schedule 80% preventative maintenance at all times and 20% corrective/reactive).
Prepare monthly report which clearly details schedule compliance, maintaining the historical trend.

Unique duties:
Essential Personnel for WSU Operations. Requires work in various plant conditions. May require accessing high elevations including flat roofs and mechanical rooms. May require working in HOT/COLD environments for short periods of inspection.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Training and experience in industrial electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic applications.
Training and experience in process controls and instrumentation applications.
Experience with CMMS software (TMA, Schooldude, Maximo).
Detailed understanding of a Manufacturing Plant Operation and Maintenance.
Experienced in Policy and Procedure interpretation and administration.
Previous journeyman skills in maintenance or operational preventative maintenance.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to use and communicate effectively through MS Office suite of tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
Capable of report development and analysis for KPI activities.
Highly organized.
Two-year technical degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
